We live in a world where success is often measured by how much you own, how far you’ve climbed, or how many people applaud you. But Islam teaches something different. This world is not the prize. It is the test.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) reminded us that this life is like a traveler resting under the shade of a tree. You do not build your home in a resting place. You pause, gather strength, and move forward. Our final destination is not here. It is with Allah.
Sometimes we wonder why life feels heavy. Why things fall apart. Why our plans don’t go the way we imagined. But if we shift our mindset and remember that every moment is part of the test, it starts to make sense. Ease and hardship both carry lessons. Every delay, every struggle, every blessing, and every loss is a question. The way we respond is the answer.
Patience. Gratitude. Prayer. These are the tools that help us through the exam.
You may not always understand the reason behind what you’re facing, but trust the One who does. Allah never wastes your tears. He never overlooks your efforts. Every moment you hold on to faith is recorded. Nothing is in vain.
So the next time you feel like asking, “Why me?” try asking, “What is Allah trying to teach me through this?” That small shift can open the door to peace.
This world is temporary, but what you do here echoes forever.
