About Me

Peace be upon you, and welcome. My name is Alex. While my parents named me Wajid, that name reflects one of the beautiful attributes of Allah, not His servant. You’re welcome to call me Abdul-Wajid, but it’s a bit long, so just call me Alex.

I’m a Muslim brother who grew up in California, and like many of you, I’ve walked through life’s struggles, tests, and turning points. Through those experiences, I realized that both Muslims and non-Muslims alike are often seeking clarity, direction, and truth. That’s why I created this space: to share what I’ve learned, reflect on what I’m still learning, and offer reminders that begin with myself first.

A little about me:

I’m a father to a beautiful daughter named Bayla, a son, a friend, and someone constantly striving to grow. I’m currently in entrepreneur mode, co-founder of a web design company called CrunchyChip, and I work with several top online brands. I’m also building this platform with one goal in mind: to continue studying the teachings of Islam and give da’wah to non-Muslims in a respectful, truthful, and balanced way.

The mission:

This site exists to guide hearts out of the darkness of polytheism, idol worship, and man-made distortions and into the Divine Light of Islam. The goal is to make Islam easy to understand, accessible, and practical for everyday life.

Ignorance is one of the biggest problems we face as a society. As a writer and student of knowledge, I feel it’s important to address the topics that matter, especially in ways that resonate with younger people who are curious and open to truth. I want this site to be that bridge between confusion and clarity, between doubt and guidance.

When in doubt about Islam, enlighten yourself with EnlightenAboutIslam.com and keep moving forward.

Let’s grow spiritually and mentally together.
Hold firm to your faith, and remember Allah always.

Jazak’Allah khair,
Your brother in Islam,
Alex (Abdul-Wajid) Shaikh
